The "Fortin Conde de Mirasol" is certainly worth a stop during your visit to Isla de Vieques. "El Fortin" is administered by the Puerto Rican Institute of Culture (ICP).
El Fortin Code de Mirasol was built between 1845 and 1855. "El Fortin" (The fort) is the best place to learn about the island's history and culture.
The building was restored and it now houses a museum of Viequense Art and history of people dating back to the indigenous times.
The Fortin also features a meeting room that can accommodate a little over 100 guests.
A visit to "El Fortin" is a nice place to take photographs so make sure you bring your camera; you can enjoy views of Isabel Segunda, the main island of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
